Bloody hell.....what a question to ask. I have seen so many bands and so many of them have been memorable for their own different reasons. And so it makes it extremely hard to pick just one......
Probably the one that will be constantly talked about for years is Pantera @ Brixton Academy (30th April 2000). Not only did I get to see my favourite band of all time, but I got to share it with Sarah. We got up to Brixton so early in the vain attempt to meet them, hoping that at least one of the band would decide to go for a walk. Unfortunately, it didn't happen. But once we were inside and the need to pee was dealt with, the unbelievable happened. I managed to spot one of the road crew that was easily recogniseable from the videos and who I had talked to before. And he just happened to offer us Guest Passes to the FREE bar after the show. To cut the story short, we got to the bar, met Dimebag (R.I.P), Rex and Vinnie and then invited back to the dressing room for some typical Pantera "shenanigans".
But other honorable mentions go to:
Slipknot @ Docklands Arena 2002 (the one filmed for the DVD).
Iron Maiden @ Brixton Academy 2002 (the first Clive Burr Trust gig).
Murderdolls @ The Garage 2002 (which left me scarred for life....physically).
Metallica @ Earls Court 2003 (the first time Sarah saw them and there is a moment that will stay with me for the rest of my life).
Metallica @ Download 2004 (the one without Lars).
Damageplan, Soil and Drownpool @ The Astoria 2004 (the last time I saw Dimebag alive).
Iron Maiden @ Twickenham Stadium 2008
The funny thing is, all of those gigs apart from one I was with Sarah, so I am wondering if it was the company I was with that made it more memorable than the bands themselves. I just hope that there will be many more memories to come.
